Description
The MicroTech methanol wideband controller has been specifically designed for use on high boost, high horsepower methanol fueled engines.
Because methanol engines are required to run so rich, most wideband meters aren’t capable of reading low enough to accurately measure the actual air/fuel ratio. When this happens, the AFR value being displayed in the data will flatline at the low end of the AFR scale and not give a true indication of the actual mixtures (the engine will be running a lot richer than what is being displayed on the meter, making it very difficult to make accurate tuning decisions).
Our meter uses an NTK oxygen sensor combined with a custom processor and will read down as low as 1.8:1 AFR in the methanol scale, which is more than low enough for what most current high boost methanol piston and rotary engines require.
The unit has a CAN output that will plug directly into the MicroTech CAN hub, plus an analogue 0-5v output which can be used to connect the meter to an ecu or a stand alone logger.
The scaling on the 0-5v output is adjustable so can be matched to most brand loggers and ecu’s.
